GreensboroTraderJoes.com was formed in an effort to bring a Trader Joe's location into Greensboro. Currently the closest Trader Joe's to the area is in Chapel Hill. While the Chapel Hill location serves its community well, it is a far reach for the many residents of Greensboro and surrounding areas that have to go out of their way to get the unique selection of fairly-priced organic food and natural products that they want. It is one of the top 10 Grocery Stores in America and we want them to come to Greensboro!

Help Us Bring Trader Joe’s to Greensboro

For years, Trader Joe’s shoppers have been asking for the grocer to come to Greensboro. Now the community has a chance to bring the gourmet grocery store to a site along Friendly Road in Greensboro.

According to the News and Record, Trader Joe’s would locate on the corner of Hobbs Road and Friendly Avenue next to the Shops at Friendly if the Zoning Commission and City Council will approve a rezoning to allow Trader Joe’s at that site.

Help us to bring Trader Joe’s to Greensboro. Please let the Greensboro Zoning Commission and Greensboro City Council know that we want Trader Joe’s in Greensboro. Contact them to show your support. You can use the phone numbers and email addresses provided on this website.

We believe that Trader Joe’s will be a great benefit to Greensboro at the Friendly Avenue site both as an economic generator and as a good corporate citizen. The developer has been reaching out to nearby residents to create a neighbor-friendly development and the site is the perfect location for a walkable, gourmet grocery store that will be a good architectural fit in the neighborhood.

Trader Joe’s would be a good fit for our city

In recent days, rumors and comments have flown concerning  a possible location for a new Trader Joe’s at the corner of West Friendly Avenue and Hobbs Road. As part of the “Pro-Trader Joe’s” initiative, our emails have concerned positive growth in a town that needs a boost.

Property owners of the proposed location have communicated a desire to cooperate with the developer. They initiated the conversation, and it seems they have every right to sell their property. They agree Trader Joe’s is a good fit with our town. So do we.

Mixed-use development can work, when done thoughtfully. The detractors say it will be noisy and too trafficked.

We happen to live with a medical center and the Weaver Business Center at our back door. This has been a very positive fit for our community.

The Weaver Center is a great neighbor. Unlike past residential neighbors, they do not host loud, all-night parties, or allow dogs to bark until the wee hours. The business adjacent to us is clean, considerate and responsive to any requests.

Trader Joe’s, please come to our city. We need good corporate citizens like you.
